My sis and I were having this argument as I told her about me watching a Behind The Scenes video for Power Rangers.( Oh, guys, the behind the scenes footage is a bit.....unpredictable. Don't break the hearts of little children if you've watched it)

Sis says that Power Rangers sucked....

I wanted to punch her for that.

They suck? You want me to punch you for that?

Tell me, none of you watch cartoons anymore?

Really?

Because if you don't here are the reasons:

1. You have no more tv

2. You have no internet.

3. You live in a cave

4. You're a pessimist...and a bad liar.

Hell, I admit that I still like Power Rangers,(well, not as much as last time, but still...)

And I enjoy cartoons, like Spongebob Squarepants

If you tell other people that you're never young at heart, you a zombie!

Driving is Dangerous When in the Wrong Hands

How many times have I actually drove a car after getting my license?
About.....6 times.
Yes, it's so few that I can count them!

To hell with that examiner who stressed the crap out of me during my exam.
"Sig-a-nal!" he says.
Ugh.
I was doing fine until I was in the car with him.
Right now I wish I could show him what sig-a-nal I'm doing right now. XD

Haha.

Anyways, it's not about Mr. Crappy here that's supposed to be the topic.
Today, I got to drive the car with mom and sis in it.
No Dad.
Yippee?
HELL NO.

Something in my head went haywire today.
I lost my sense of direction (SOMEHOW) and missed the junction to my housing area. After one EPIC incident, came another.
So okay, I missed the junction, BIG DEAL. All I need to do was a U-turn, and that I did.
Amazingly, mom panicked when I did it!
" BRAKE! BRAKE! "

I think I gave my mom a minor heart attack there....
And I was about to give her another one.

After that ordeal, we reach the safe sanctuary that I call home.
I thought I did well, until mom opened the auto gate.
Yea..OK. I was well distanced, but the car was still moving forward.
Here's what mom had to say:
" OMG I JUST OPENED THE AUTO GATE!!! REVERSE! REVERSE!!! "

2nd minor heart attack in a day...

I apologise to the thousands(if I'm fortunate enough) out there who are left shellshocked, flabbergasted and any means necessary on my comment about a computer, but I was born special. Special in a sense where I do NOT interpret and elaborate stuff.

So why did I bring up the ever almighty computer as a topic?
Well, it all started in Facebook, when I was in a desperate need of a graphic card.

Being stuck at home all day is like a living Hell!
If someone asks you to go to Hell, you get to tell them that you're ALREADY in it!
I am one of the victims of the "being-stuck-at-home" syndrome....

(timeline not included as you could do it anytime from 6 a.m. till 6p.m.)

Repeat Day 1 schedule.

Oh yeah.
Having a Probational Driving Licence doesn't mean you're off the hook from boredom.
That's if your parents are SUPERHUMANS FROM OUTER SPACE SENT TO OVERPROTECT YOU.
I still love them by the way. =D

Well, for a season or so maybe.

Oh, you know...
He made Liverpool 50 million pounds richer.
He told Liverpool fans:"I'm moving to the best club in the world"
Yes, he is the Liverpool flop we now hate:

Now, I behalf of most Liverpool fans are kinda ok with his departure.
But, what really hurt us was not because he left.
It was because, he left without appreciating what Liverpool FC and Kenny Dalglish had done to help him.
Why did we buy Luiz Suarez?
He was supposed to be Torres' much needed support up front.
Why did Torres need support up front?
I guess he didn't want to work so much, and we REALLY do need a support up front.
So. after getting Luiz Suarez in a 22.8 million pound deal, did Torres say thank you?
No.
If he didn't say thank you, what DID he do?
He turned his back on us.

Anyways, what's done is done.
We didn't cry over spilt milk.
Ok, we burnt some Torres Liverpool jerseys, but that's not the point.

The highlight ALL week last week was the most anticipated match of February so far.

Chelsea vs. Liverpool.
After Torres left for Chelsea,
Torres told the whole world that he will net one for Chelsea.
Little did he know that his poor form from Liverpool had followed him to Chelsea, like a yapping chihuahua.
During the game, every time he touches the ball, he gets jeers from the faithful Kop followers.
And as usual, he flopped.
I guess he hasn't got used to getting this sort of treatment.
He was lazy, and only created 2 chances for himself.
Both which he awesomely squandered!
And for that, he was subbed after 66 minutes on the pitch.

3 minutes later, Raul Meireles scored the goal that wrapped up the game.
Bringing absolute joy to King Kenny and the Liverpool fans.

Conclusion:
Don't say that you'll score on your debut when your form the whole season sucks like hell.
In the end, you had to eat your own bitter words, Torres.

It frustrates me to see someone trying to catch another's attention when they're not good at it.
I don't know about you, but it's annoying.
In this case, it's about us trying to speak proper English.

Ok, you can say at least we make an effort to speak decent, if not proper English.
But, this effort of one made me laugh. Hard.

So I was at Subang Parade yesterday, since Dad had to attend a wedding dinner, AND Mom, Sis and I had to go find ourselves a place FOR dinner. That wasn't the issue, or the what this blog post is about.

So as we go on a hunt to find a restaurant with something decent and affordable to eat at Subang Parade, we stumbled upon a group of teens wearing costumes (weird....)

Apparently, they were promoting something, so they approached us.
I did the usual, ignore them, and then feel uncomfortable at the same time.
So this young lady aprroached me and told us about a show her centre will be performing.
I obligingly took her pamphlet as she explained to me about the show.
Here's what she said.

"Hello there, we are having a show this February at ( I don't know where the show is held, I suddenly had the urge to ignore her) and we would really like you all to come and give support"

I was really intrigued by the offer, until she asked me this question;

"So, are you interesting?"

At that point, I didn't look up. I looked down at the pamphlet, nodded my head and took a few steps before I burst out laughing!
I didn't turn back to see the dejected look she was sporting ( I know I didn't look, but common sense, who wouldn't feel hurt when they're being laughed at, regardless of what they have done to deserve this?)
I think she was asking me if I was interested with that offer, but instead, trying to impress me with her new found language, she asked me if I was interesting(which of course...I am..XD).

I was flattered, I almost wanted to turn back and say;
"Yeah, I AM interesting,thanks for the compliment, but I think your question was supposed to be if I was INTERESTED, thank you"
And THEN continue laughing...
THAT would be PRICELESS

I'm proud to be a Malaysian citizen at times, and that's because you get to think that people are laughing WITH you, but they're actually laughing AT you!

Come to think of it, it's been quite a while since i really re-entered the blogging world again(excluding yesterday's post)

I kinda missed it.
It kinda felt like I was reunited with a long lost friend again.
Truth be told, I missed blogging. I remember the times when I was blogging, always stress-free..... Voicing tough words around sometimes.

Reflecting back the last few months of 2010, particularly during the SPM period, life was a living hell ( not literally. if it was, I would be burnt to a crisp....or awesomely tanned. XD). I was not given the freedom that I wanted, like a bird in a cage. So how did I waste time, you might wonder....
-I stuck myself to studying( that did not work).
-I constantly slept.( I think I'm still doing that..)
-I spend time watching TV
-I eat ( come on, who doesn't enjoy food while watching TV? It's like having fries without salt!)

Life was very boring and routine-ish at that period.
And I never thought about blogging.
Thinking back about those days, I felt like a complete idiot.
Here it is, something productive to waste time on, and I shoved it aside.
Thankfully there was no love lost and I'm back blogging again!

Goodness, there's so much running through my mind right now, it's going to be quite a while before I suffer from the writer's block again. Till then, I think I would refrain from screaming my self silly...

is that a smile or a scream? i let you be the judge of that

Anyways, this is kind of a motivation, I hope you continue visiting this blog of mine,as there will be much in store for you to look forward to.

First of all I apologise to everybody for the broken promise of the date when I should have made a comeback. The promise of re-blogging after my trials wasn't meant to be as I still had to battle hard against SPM.

It was a tough battle, but I overcame it. So again, I apologise.
Anyways, since SPM, I've got plenty of time to spend.
So why not spend time spreading the news, the whuzzats and the whodidthats to you all, I wonder?
Well, fear not as I will do so!

Holidays

I just realised that I'm only 4 days away from going back to school.
Not that I'm complaining or whatsoever, but I'm actually kind of excited that I'm actually this close to going back to school.
You might be thinking : "This blogger is nuts! No sane person would want to go back to school right now!!!"

But there are many reasons why I really want to get back to school
1. I'm bored
2. I'd rather spend time in school than rotting here at home
3. In 2 weeks, I've been in Carrefour 4-5 times ( it's a lot for a boring dude like me )
4. Lots of my pals are out on holidays
5. I don't seem to have the knack for studying during holidays ( don't ask why )
6. My fellow bloggers are busy, so they don't really blog much
7. THE WORLD CUP IS EXTREMELY BORING!!!

I can go on ranting about why I don't wanna be at home, and rather be at school.
But I still have 4 days to waste, and I'm going to waste it productively....
BY BLOGGING!

It's Tuesday already?
How many more days till the holidays end?
That's a question I wouldn't like to answer right now.
Anyways, yesterday I was invited to go roller-blading at Carrefour.
The event was at 10 but I promised( or forced) myself to wait for somebody, unfortunately she said she's not coming. I forgot to save my game just because of that. Silly me....Haha...
So eventually I went there at 10, and i met up with Trushal, Hoon Heng, Kimberley, Eugene, some dude I don't know( sorry), Kennie, and that's about it at 10. SO then we started rollerblading, and I amazingly fell 6 times in 1 hour. Really brilliant...

Then as time passed by more and more people came, let me see...
Hon Kit, Chun Sian, Jovine, Justin, Ivan, Ezra...Joey...
Yea, there's supposed to be a lot more but I'm suffering for a bit of a memory loss right now.
I had fun there, got a chance to be in a "train" which was like....high-octane fun!
I had a few incidents where I "accidentally" tripped some of my friends, especially Suvin, we shared a lot of major wipeouts, which was totally AWESOME.

Here are 3 incidents which I remember happened at the rink.
Incident 1:
Joey: If I fall I'll so blame you!
Blogger: Me?? Why not blame someone else???
*Blogger's blades accidentally hits onto Joey's and both fall*
Blogger: Ooops....
Joey: YOU SEE????

That was like....so uncalled for...what I call my jinx...haha...I seriously jinxed myself there

Incident 2:
Was going really fast, and I decided to form the train. It was so fun when everyone was forming the train, but leading it was extremely hard. I eventually lost my balance and everyone fell... Thanks to Yours Truly * bows politely*
XD

Incident 3:
Some "seafood people" decided to find fault with us. I do not want to elaborate much on that.
I just hope those idiots fall and break whatever bones they have for spoiling our fun day.

In total, I spent at least 5 hours there, and fell a total of 31 times. As a result, I have joint aches and a lot of bruises.
It was fun though, although I'm now thinking twice when I'm invited to go to that place again.

The highlight match for today's post is the highly anticipated match-up of England against the USA.
In my opinion, the draw looks, well, like a really bad thing for England, especially if you're one of the seeded 8. Being an England fan, I didn't like it when I saw the highlights, when USA equalised.
The English team were playing really well, but what disappointed me was the goalkeeper's blunder that led to the equaliser. If you ask me though, I wouldn't have saved it either. Actually, if you look at it over and over again, anybody could have saved it. it's not really that hard, it was a harmless shot. I pity Rob Green though, I wonder what Capello said to him after the match....

Shield those teabags, Robbie.... If you know what I mean....

It's June 12th and sorry I didn't update earlier, the World Cup calls!!!
And, as I promised a few months ago, I'll change My Blog My Life to SOKKER SAFARI
And many thanks to the readers for voting for the new blog header.

So yea, in this month while I fill you in with stuff meant for MBML, I'll be filling you in on how the World Cup is progessing, and I promise you guys this. it's gonna be the same MBML, just with a little changes for the World Cup.

The latest results will be filled in soon.
I'm doing it on the same day.
There will be some matches I'll be talking about, and even though I'm not supposed to do so, I'm gonna give you my comments about the match that has been played. I'll set up a poll to see whether you agree with what I say. I hope this is fun...

Hey Hey Hey!
Yours Truly is back into the blogging stream yet again!
Thankfully that certain something is BACK again, and today there is a topic I really want to share with you all.
It's about the CF.
What?
CF?
Centre Forward?
Curbside Food?
CrabFish?( WhaT???)

If you're thinking that one of the above are the answers, then stop thinking.
It's about the Christian Fellowship.
Now I remember Ezra telling me the definition of the Christian Fellowship, but sadly HenryC can only have until this much stored in his head.( uhm, you guys try imagining it. the bigger the better...XD)
So after many broken promises, I finally willed myself to go to this CF, held at Galvin's house.
Let me tell you, CF was really really really REALLY fun!
I mean, you might think Christian Fellowship, is only for Christians only. But I'm here to tell you otherwise, it's for EVERYBODY!
So to those racists out there, here this out.
Anyways, I realised that CF was fun, like i said.
We started off with a game, where we had 1 guy in the centre, holding a newspaper roll, and everyone else had to stand in a circle. The game's objective is to know everybody's name, and when someone calls out your name, the person at the centre will try to beat you with the paper roll. What you have to do is to lead that persone to someone else by calling out his/her name. Really fun.

Then we had the worship session, where I was the most quiet person there.
When they sang, I was as tight-lipped as ever. Something I would like to improve on.
After the worship, we watched this DVD called "Indescribable"
And true enough, it really was indescribable....

After all that, we had lunch, which was really nice.
So to end all this, I would like to thank Galvin, Josephine and the others who participated in the CF for giving me a very good time and a long lasting impression of the CF.
And thanks to Qi Hao who gave me a ride home, if not, I would have wasted 20-30 minutes walking back home.

Since this was a relatively long blogpost, and there's no pictures, I apologise if you guys are yawning right now...haha...

The weekend proved to be extremely boring without Mom, so I'm glad it's almost over.
But something caught me by surprise.

Hello Hurricane is a song sang by Switchfoot, this is for those who are not much of a hardcore Switchfoot fan, like Ezra, the dude who LOVES Switchfoot.
I'm not blogging about how the song was wrote and what the song means though...
I'm blogging about how the song affected me in my everyday life.
To me, this song is about how determined one can be to live, or maybe even to love.

John Foreman sings:
"I've been watching the sky,

Not a doubt in my mind anymore,
There's a storm up ahead"

What I think means is that he knows that something is about to happen, and there's no doubt about it. So yeah, in life there are things that are bound to happen, whether you like it or not, it's going to happen, without a doubt.

John Foreman:

Here, obviously you can see that he's saying that nothing can stop him,not even a hurricane that could probably, not, WILL kill a person.Well that's in everybody's opinion,I think, including mine.
To me, it means that nothing can stop me in whatever I do.
And this chorus really picks me up when I listen to it.

Here, in my way of seeing it, is how I imagine a really bad day. Everything happy in me is lost....taken away. But from there, I build it up again, and there's nothing that anyone or anything can do to take it away.

The other parts of the song is a total boost-me-up to spark up my day.
And so I conclude, when you're down and need a pick-up, try listening to this song. It works on me, so I'm not surprised that it would work for you.

Ever get that time when you're like on the moon, the cloud, the sun(ouch) or whatever?
It feels awesome being so high, right?
Yup. It's like: "Woo hoo!!!", right?

Now imagine all that fun time disappear, right in front of you.
And being so high, you start falling....
And you fall on the ground, HARD
It could kill you, right?
It hurts you, right?

Now imagine yourself having happy hour at a bar ( I don't know how happy hour's supposed to be like, I've never been in a bar before )
Enjoying yourself, drinking to your heart's content.

Now then, imagine yourself waking up the next day, having a very bad hangover.
Doesn't that, hurt you?

Well, unfortunately, yours truly is feeling the exact same way I visualised it to you guys.
So yes, to those who still thinks life is a fairytale, WAKE UP
Whether you like it or not, life SUCKS
But it doesn't mean that you have to end your life just because your life is not a fairytale anymore. To have a hellish life once in a while is what makes us really what we are today, civilized and thankful people.

So yes, when you know you're gonna get drunk and get a bad hangover,

My England Very Good!

Today I want to give you guys a little smack on the head, those internet users who "abuse" the English language. ( I used abuse 'cos I don't know what suitable word to use, so abuse it is ) Recently, well, not really recently, I pledged myself to my trusty Facebook, and enjoy myself with scrolling down and looking at other people's posts and comments. And sorry to say, I'm really annoyed with the way certain people use English.
Take a statement for example.

A writes: I hate you! You ***** XD!!!!
B writes: Yah! You hates me so much, you sucks too!

Being that dude with a tinge of OCD, I B's english really bad, may it be just because of just one alphabet. The sentence;"You suck" is way much better than: "You sucks!"

Take another one

Benjy: I love you, you love me, we are happy family~~~
Anonymouse: Is it a songs?

Now, what??
Ok, Barney loves us, but, isn't it just a song, not 2, or 3, or 4 songs?
*I deliberately used the word Anonymouse, not Anonymous

Now, both parties are at fault here, and I do not know which timeline they come from, Paleolithic? Neolithic? Mesolithic?
I don't wanna comment so much about this, because it puts me in shame if I knew this person, and I write really good English ( not like I can write good English )

Really, teens these days, especially us Chinese, should do better in English AND our mother tongue. You're not gonna be able to survive with that English you're typing, be it in Facebook or not.

A post after camp

I don't know what to write about. Things that I want to blog about just doesn't want to come out and be shared to you guys. Oh dear.

Anyways, an EXTREMELY long story short, camp was fun. I spent a great time with my pals and others, and I can say that after 2 days and 1 night, I have bonded really well with my prefect friends, as well as the others. Even if you asked me if I hated, despised or disliked the camp or not, I'd still say it's the best camp I've ever been to, and the last camp I'll ever go to after 5 years at my beloved SMK BJ, though my whole body hurts when I laugh, sneeze and inhale deeply.

Camp!!!!!

Yeah!
Tomorrow is Saturday!
Tomorrow is also the day we're gonna go for camp!
Well I've been to camp for 2 years and this is my third year going to one.
It's a day I use to get some teamwork instilled in myself and my mates, and I also use it to bond with my mates even more. I still have stuff to pack, practically because I haven't even packed at all!

It's just a typical day for a blogger to do his/her thing: blogging
So, they seat themselves in front of the monitor, click on some shortcuts and links, and go to their blog. Then they start thinking of what had happened today and chose the best. He/She starts cranking their minds on what to write on the topic. Having that spark, or as Archimedes say:
"Eureka!" moment, they approach their trusty keyboard ( probably with some letter missing as they were hardcore bloggers ).

All of a sudden, DISASTER STRIKES!!!!
The blogger misses out on something!
He/She forgets to get pictures of the incident ( that incident happened somewhere.....far away from the internet ), and then all of a sudden ( again?!) he/she forgets other topics.
That is what I'm suffering from now...

I did not do much for a Saturday night.
Finished reading Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters for the 2nd time(YaY!)
Went to 1Puchong for dinner, and had the worst taste of Vietnamese food.
Then to IOI Mall, where I spent 2++ hours of boredom.
OMG I met Pn. Chin, my English teacher at Popular Bookstore.
When I told mom and sis about it, sis gave me a response that made me feel like I wanna punch her in the face! Nevertheless, I kicked the habit of hitting when I was 12.
Then when I went back, I started SMS-ing Joey, and then she told me that she was doing some KPJ paperwork. I totally forgot!!!! But thank goodness for my quick actions *cough cough* I managed to finish it within an hour.
I finally retired to bed at 1 a.m.

Today is also School Day
And it turned out to be the most boring school day of my life!

So I'm just going to tell you what happened at the timeline of 0650-0710 hours
-I arrive in school
-I enter my usual hangout spot
-I sit down with a group of friends
-I start chatting with my friends
-One of my friends start up a topic about blogs
-I listen to the conversation
-I blabbered something about my blog
-I get told off because I don't update my blog.... Usually

Ouch.
I didn't understand what they meant by updating my blog regularly.
I only update when there is time to do so. This is just to get things straight

Hey everyone!
I'm blogging!!!
2 times in a row is a freaking big plus!

Anyways, today was an interesting day. It's my first day going back to class duty after being kicked out of the PA(one need not ask one's misery, so do no dare ask!). So it was, interesting in a way. I totally forgot my Buku Peraturan, but praise the Lord above, I was out of harm's way...

Then when I came in to class, I was like...so bored! So I waited and waited and waited for the PJ period to arrive. Fortunately I was late to class and it didn't take long for PJ to arrive. Then I had a tiring time at PJ, I totally rusted in futsal, my shot had hit the bar only after realising that teacher had blown the whistle for full time!

Back in class, I was totally tired.... Like someone landed a knockout blow to my head! And it was SO boring, I dropped dead ( I fell asleep, I didn't die you asses!)

Sorta like what happened to this little girl....XD
So that totally sums up the whole schooling period... It was raining during KOKO...

Again.

I should stop doing this very often...I am a very lazy person, therefore I don't even know why I've started blogging.

I really didn't hate the blog... nor the insults. I was very immature when I did "Insult blogs are boring" and therefore had to pay consequences. Trushal, thanks for making be wake up and see how bad it really feels.... And I never did know who that Sean dude was....but probably I deserved it.... I realise that people hate me. I therefore subdue myself.... I understand. Probably I am that type of person who deserves to be hated.... for example like....uhm some people around the world who are being hated now..XD

To those people who really hate me, I don't mind you hating me....Like, I can do anything about it..... My best friends might even hate me. Nevertheless.... Supp guys....
It's the 26th of February and that means that we have another 2 more days to March.
So being a lazy person, this could be the last post of this month. This does not mean that this is the last update of the blog (this is to those who love to misinterpret stuff). So to commemorate February, let me sum up what happened throughout this month in my life and, well practically other people's lives as well.

Obviously, first of all, February has given a lot. Take this as an example, we had Chinese New Year on Valentine's Day! For us, it's the very first time we've ever experienced it. The next one comes only after 500 years or so.... And when we have all those love were being spread around, there was also stuff that were spread around which we love a lot:

Who doesn't love these things when they aren't empty?

There are other stuff that spices February up in my life. It actually happened like, yesterday. Actually, 2 events happened yesterday, which I deem as an historical event in our school. Being students that somehow doesn't know how to sing our national anthem, the school tends to be quiet when we sang the national anthem. Very much to my surprise, yesterday's performance was extremely different. I think the whole school sang the national anthem yesterday. Beat that, SK students. Another event in our school was a teacher going cuckoo, or probably in military terms, AWOL( does AWOL means crazy?) in our school. That's all I can tell about that incident, I do not want this to leak out as national news.

I wouldn't like to be this guy if I were you.

Well, there are pretty much a lot of events that happened throughout this shortest month of the year, but I enjoy being lazy so this is the end of this post. I hope you guys have a happy February. Till then,I'll be locking myself in my room, jumping on the bed till either on of us breaks.

Let me tell you a story.
Of a frog.
Not just any frog, a 3-legged frog!

Ok, yes this is just a blog post, but it doesn't hurt to make myself feel wise....does it?
So here's how the story goes.

I was walking to my uncle's house at Glenmarie Cove( of course, I was there already, just minding my own business there. You do not expect me to walk al the way to Klang, do you?)
Then, i fixed my eyes on this

A 3-legged frog!
Now, according to Chinese customs, the 3-legged frog is a symbol of fortune, so being Chinese, I was very lucky to stumble upon one. Cool huh?
It's so cool I want another pic in this post!

So I decide that I should do something with it, so I asked Uncle if I could put it into his pond.
Looking at the 3-legged frog, he nodded. So he took a styrofoam cup and tried to pick it up. Suprisingly, it seems to understand that we want to get him into the cup, and it laid motionless. We tried hard to push it into the cup, but it was just pushed forward. We finally realised that it was dead. So we flipped it over, and this will make you slam your head onto the keyboard, screaming:"WHAT THE F***?!"

Heyo!!

It's been a while since my last post and I think you guys deserve some freedom from this boredom!
First of all, I would like to say sorry to my fellow bloggers who were anticipating(LOL...not~) a post after 09, at least. But it has been really hectic, to tell you the truth-this year has been. January was really very tight, like you've read in my pal Johnny's blog,(johnnythatdude.blogspot.com)- I was having an exam prepared by the government. You might be thinking: What? Exam on January?? but yes, we have exams on January (sadly)

Probably the exam has cost me a month-long layoff from blogging (well, not really)
I couldn't think of any topics to blog about, thanks to my neighbour's best employee: her baby daughter. Why best employee? Does she get paid? No. I think best employee suits her well because she work in shifts-morning,afternoon,evening,night. What's her job? CRYING! She cries practically 9-10 hours per day, causing lack of sleep and other stuff.... Well, at least she isn't stroking dirty stray cats and letting them poop at our yard anymore....

You guys might have to wait for a long time before the next post comes out. This year is quite an important year for me and my fellow 17 year olds in Malaysia, because it is SPM year. Yes, SPm has practically screwed the lives of some people, so I will not let it screw me. Therefore a ratio of 3:1 study:blogging ratio has been set for me, and finding time to blog will be a great nuisance...

Anyways, I hope you guys will enjoy this blog post coz this might be the 1st and last of the February posts. To make it special, I'll be posting this blog in light blue..... Those with eye problems and epilepsy be warned...LOL

What 2009 had for me

And definitely, I would like to write something nice
So to say goodbye to 2009....
I want to tell you guys why 2009 gave me a very big impact in my life so far...
So here are the 9 reasons(Well, i'll write 10 next year....Probably...)
1. I'm in my senior year...
Lol....That's one of the reasons...And why my age?
Well it really gave me the status of "Senior" in school....More bullying juniors!!!(which I did not do)

2. I achieved something I wanted academically for the very 1st time
Yes....Academically....I don't even know if I spelt it or even used the right word!
Anyway.... I have accomplished what I wanted to do in my stay on Earth after 16 years....
Which is being in the top 3!!!!
My sis has done that and I've never got it before...
So it's definitely a very big plus

3. I became a football fan....
Well... yes... maybe this is one of the things that has made 09 a very good year for me.
At least I have something to waste time with during the weekends other than just studying

4. Facebook!!!!
My Facebook account has done a lot for me....I managed to reconnect with some lost friends...
Get to know them a lot better, and definitely how they look like now....

5. My foot can score goals!!!
Yes, I've never scored goals in football and/or futsal . But I have broke what Vicknesh calls the 'football/futsal virginity'
Just yesterday, which is 31/12/2009 I scored my milestone 10th..... So you can say I ended 09 with a bang...

6. I have the best of friends
'08 was quite a miserable year for me as I was not treated the way I wanted to be.
'09, however gave me what I really wanted most throughout my 16 years: friendship
I was having fun all day long...People understand me...So yea....

7. I finally get to go out with friends
My parents are very over-protective, so I've never been able to go out anywhere except with my trustable neighbours and my parents.
But this year I finally got to go out with my pals and do stuff... WOO!!!

8. I can take pictures with my camera?
That was a random reason....

9.My Blog, My Life!
Yes! One of the best reasons 2009 was a blast was all because of this blog and my fellow readers!!!

My results....
I can tell you I didn't pass with flying colours.
Even though I'm now 5th in class...
My percentage is like SHIT!
I can't tell you all how devastated I am.
Really, really really devastated....
To make matters worse, I failed Chemistry, got low marks for physics and totally got a bad mark for Biology, the subject I put interest the most!
So yea, i still have hopes for my science subjects, it's just my first year.
But my co-curicullar activities are just screwed up!
Did you know that I've went for my activities for my Kadet Remaja Sekolah,
And they gave me ZERO ATTENDANCE!!!!!!
OOH I'm just so pissed with them!!
My dad gave me the worst scolding because of that, even when I tried to prove my innocence.
Well, if they don't wanna mark, we'll see who's the new leader of the KRS next year!

But I really fell in love with it when I was Form 3, after PMR...

So yea...
I went for my add maths tuition a little early this week.
My teacher replaced this week's Friday class yesterday.
So as usual, her kids were there...
Nothing much usually comes from the kids....
And her eldest son....
He proved something....
O yes he did...
He proved that he was just too smart for all of us there in the tuition centre

Since it was a public holiday, the whole family was at home...
Mr. Vincent, my tuition teacher's husband decided to do some carpenting outside, with his sons
So her eldest son, let's call him Timothy; came in with a piece of wood( whoa there!)

A: Amma( that's what the children in the family call my teacher)

I can't believe that just after a week or so of not blogging....
My hands start to itch....
Well yea....I meant it metaphorically.....
But seriously.... I'm starting to go crazy from not blogging!

I might as well tell you guys what had happened the whole week...
I'd rather highlight Thursday....
One, it's because Thursday was the last day before the Raya break...
Two, it was a day full of high octane fool!

That Thursday....
We Prefects cracked the Fireworks Ring Syndicate!
Well....Only the Form 4 branch lar....
Who was there.....
Brandon Ng, Kimberly, Kavya, me, and Daniel.....
The best thing was....
Those idiots gave themselves away!

After recess, they started burning up their homemade fireworks...
So when it exploded, they ran away....right to us
So we started questioning them....
And they started acting stupid.
Fortunately, Hon Kit saw something suspicious, and asked me to search the fire hose box...
Ta-Dah!!!!
I found two homemade ones...
And suddenly....I started trembling...
All thanks to Brandon who said :"Careful... It might explode!"
When it was successfully sent....
I heaved a sigh of relief...
Then we went to find the people....Because we suspected that they still have more....
We were right....
And just when we searched for the culprits...
One appeared to have gone to the back of his class, which was the school's carpark....
So of course.... Something was amiss....
He hid the fireworks!
But where....
We conducted a search around the whole school....
Some of us stopped searching....
So Brandon, Daniel and I were left...
We went to one place where we didn't search...
The most obvious place of all....
The back of the classes!
So we went to the backway....the first stop was the store room....
There was a big gaping hole there.... Since all the windows were broken at that particular hole...
And so I searched, and could find nothing....
Brandon on the other hand...had a sharper eyesight and found one packet of "sweets'
To confirm....we found out where they hid it!
So Brandon pulled it out....
And WE SCORED THE MOTHERLODE!!!!!
The packet was HUGE!!

So we ran to the office....and all the teachers and the clerks were like....Whoa!
They couldn't believe the size of the packet....
And so.... The Form 4 Fireworks Ring was BUSTED!
No doubt.... We all, including Kim and Kav did a tremendously good job...
Hope that when school reopens next week....
We could go catch some more!

Hey...
As you know...It's already the holidays and basically there's nothing much to blog about during this time....

I couldn't blog this morning....
There's 2 factors which caused me to be offline today
1. The internet was down( this happens to my router EVERYDAY from 10a.m to 7p.m since a week ago)
2. I was very sleepy....Liverpool lost....I had to cry( just a form of speech)

So I spent my day doing the holiday package....and the house chores....

Yea.... This happened last Friday....
Went bowling at Mega Lanes Carrefour KL with Brandon Ng, Daniel, Suan Kit, and Oscar
It was fun....
Of course...My second outing ever since that jam session we had a few months ago(how I wish I could go jamming at school)

Nothin much to say about the outing but, Brandon you LIAR!!!
Haha... Nothing serious....
He told us that he was playing bowling for the very FIRST time in his life
Guess what...
HE BOLWED LIKE A PRO
But then his beginner's luck ran off in the 2nd game...

Then after bowling, we went for a few rounds of Daytona(how I missed the game so much)
Finally, that was when I learned how to control the steering wheel...1st step to driving there....
I then decided to call it quits 'cos the cigarette smoke inside there was KILLING me!!!

today is Saturday...so obviously got no school today....but throughout Monday to Friday....

To tell you guys to truth....the weekdays was better than i expected....I thought it would be just typical boring old school day....i dunno how to explain....but it's just different

The best day I had this week was Wednesday....
You see, being a prefect....there comes a time where the Form 4 prefects-which we call seniors- take over the Form 5 AJK spots....so hey, whaddaya know...yours truly is Form 4

So since Wednesdays are usually the time we have our weekly meeting....
Only 2 Form 4 prefects had cold feet....

After so long.....

MY FIRST DAY OUT WITH FRIENDS!!!!!!!

it's kinda cool really....until the PC so excited....(cnnt change the font d...)

Brandon decided to invite me for a jam session at carrefour. I didn't expect this to happen...but cool!
then, i was like...."dude...what am i supposed to do when i go there?"

Brandon explained this....that....then he told me to play bass.....
Back up gua....

then went to ask my mom....then she...for the 1st time actually approved!

i was like....yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the day itself....i was nervously waiting at gramp's house, trying to pass my time with my PS2....

then ezra called...then ok lar....i head out to carrefour myself(basically...gramp's house lane...it takes abt a 2-3 minute walk to carrefour0

Then called brandon....and ezra was waving to me at carrefour(sharp...isn't he)

we all met up at McD's.....wen chun and joshua joining us....then we went up, brandon ezra and me only....and found to our dismay that they were havin lessons in the studio....arh!!!!!!!!!!! must wait a freakin half an hour.....

whatever oso...we chit chatted at McD's until time came....
And i got my first touch to a bass guitar....
trust me....it sounded like heaven.....(-o-)......

then played for and awesome one hour...then i went back....

twas kinda cool being out with friends...planning to invite them out some day...

Camp Trip to Impian Country Resort,Ulu Langat

I juz came back from a Leadership Camp yesterday...
Okok lor....the place kinda not what i was expecting....
thought it was a nice resort....turned out to be a kampung like place in the middel of a jungle....
stayed there for 2days 1 nite....with other prefects,librarians and koperasi ppl....
reach there abt 9a.m on saturday.....
then get taklimat from the owner thr...Pak Wan....this is what he quoted us....

It all happened after school.... I was staying back for green house practice....teacher then asked us to go to MSN for practice...So i walk with Charles,Wei Shern,Kevin and Siew Hong to go there.

After that....teacher ask us to go back since we all like nth to do...so the 5 of us walked back....on the way back....while I was talkin to Kevin, he kicked some thing yellowish...then...we got a shock.

It has paid off....

After countless draws, Liverpool has kicked themselves up to get back in the title game!
It was the best match I've ever saw.... Just what I've wanted to see from my favourite team.

After gearing up for the game at 12:00a.m, the 1st half,as I expected, was as boring as usual. Then things started to kick up at 2nd time. With a mistake by the referee, Frank Lampard was sent off, making the whole Chelsea team to be somewhat demoralised.Then,at the 89th minute, Miracle Boy Fernando Torres scored with a beautiful header. I jumped in celebration, I jumped like crazy... The when I saw the extra time was to be set for 5 minutes....I trembled....Little did I know, Miracle Boy scored again!

With the whistle blowing off....I went bonkers! LIVERPOOL WON!!! LIVERPOOL WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Man I hate this time of year.

Especially when my mom is now on crutches.....
Okay, I understand....I'm already 16, it's time for responsibility to fall in my hands.....I don't blame anyone,actually.....

Basically....only 2 people in this family knows how to do some house cleaning,now that my mom couldn't do anything.1,my dad and 2 and the last,me.Other than that ,all that's left is my sister...my dearest sister.Actually that came out wrong.It shouldn't be dearest....it should be useless and hopeless.Oh yeah....she keeps callin me hopeless... right back at ya sis.

All she can think about is herself. This time of year....everyone should contribute to make the house as clean as possible,right? Well to her it isn't. She cleaned her room, good enough for her. Now let's just leave everything else for dad and Bro to take care of. Now that's Sis.I mean,I purposely left the dining table untouched,because it's all full of her crap.My observation went on for 1 week....Before:dirty as crap, and after:Dirtier than crap itself. God of War 2....

I skipped God of War 1 cuz i couldn't finish even the 1st stage.
God of War 2 was far more interesting....well cuz....it has better graphix and well.....Kratos i s so much more powerful.....to tell the truth, I love the game very much....so much more violence and mature material really makes the game totally more insane!!!!

Badminton Guide for Dummies

Hello.

Well,I know there are a lot of Malaysians out there who are playing Badminton(obviously seen after the Olympics' silver medal brought back by Dato' Lee Chong Wei,our badminton hero),but I know very well some people might not even know what badminton is(WHAT?!).

Basically,the 1st thing to bring out the badminton champion(or likewise) in you is to always...Always....ALWAYS.....have a badminton racquet(obviously) and a shuttlecock.This you can get anywhere!Plus....you do not need to wear a special shoe for badminton,although they do sell....(it's for best performance in the court)

Secondly....this,I learned this from my father.The very,Very basic thing about badminton is to get the shuttle across the net(if you can't do it a few times...maybe throughout the whole game.....train HARDER!)

1.You must get the ball across the net
2.A service foul will be called if you have served with your racquet above your waist.
3.In a doubles match,a "long" will be called by the linesmen only if the shuttlecock lands on the baseline(Google the word:'baseline in badminton' if you don't understand)
4.In any match,a 'short' will be called by the linesmen if the shuttlecock is served to the 'short zone'(sorry,I don't really know what it's called)
5.A yellow and a red card will be given if you act rashly during the game.It's like soccer.
6.You will be sent off if you're given a red card by the umpire
7.Only in singles,an 'out' will be called by the linesmen if the shuttle lands on the sideline(a box at the side)

The next game from the team behind Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time looks amazing--a medieval GTA with fantastic art direction. This PS3 title is certainly one of the most impressive games at E3 2006.

LOS ANGELES--Assassin's Creed is being shown only behind closed doors at Ubisoft's booth at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, but it's easily one of the most impressive games in the company's large lineup. In development for two years by the team responsible for the outstanding and influential Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Assassin's Creed is stylish, moody, visually stunning, and original. It offers a stunning level of freedom of movement, incredible lifelike animation, believable artificial intelligence, and a level of nuanced detail like we haven't seen before in any previous game.

A quick glance at Assassin's Creed quickly brings to mind a number of other recent outstanding games. It boasts very fluid animation and an incredibly maneuverable main character, much like in Prince of Persia. It's got a medieval setting and emergent, open-ended gameplay similar to Oblivion. It has huge, lifelike cityscapes not unlike the recent Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, albeit a thousand years in the past. And it's reminiscent of the Thief series, if only because of its inconspicuous, independent, and resourceful main character and the anti-medieval-establishment premise. Finally, the open-ended "sandbox" world of the game is easy to compare to Grand Theft Auto. However, this is clearly no cookie-cutter clone of a game. Its distinctive, beautifully crafted visual style and surprising twists give it an identity all its own.

"Nothing is true. Everything is permitted." That is the assassins' creed, suggesting that anything is possible given the proper frame of mind. This game seemingly takes place during the Third Crusade under Richard the Lionheart, sometime in the late 12th century. You play as a character named Altair--an assassin by trade, armed with a deadly wrist blade, an unconcealed sword at his side, and a quiver of crossbow bolts at his back. He's clearly a powerful fighter (and a trained horseback rider--he enters town by pressing forth on horseback). Faced with aggressive threats from all sides, Altair can slice them up in an instant, using flashy and devastating counterattacks to strike the enemies when they least expect it. However, even he can't necessarily withstand a city full of violent guards, not to mention mobs of civilians. So it pays for Altair to keep it cool.

To that end, he can find his mark by working his way through the crowds. It's difficult to explain why this appears so remarkable, but essentially, the way in which Altair moves through the crowds demonstrates two things about gaming: one, that very few games (before this one) have successfully presented what seems like a bustling city environment, filled with a sufficient number of different-looking people. And two, that very few games (before this one) have done a halfway-decent job of making the player's character interact realistically with other characters and objects. In Assassin's Creed, when Altair brushes up near other characters wandering the streets, he uses his hands to move the individuals out of his path nonchalantly, like you might do in real life while trying to wade through the masses at a concert, or maybe at a huge video game convention (the game's creative director cited the concert scenario specifically). But you don't need to keep it cool if you don't want to. Altair can draw attention to himself by shoving civilians out of his way forcefully, or by acting in any other aggressive or suspicious manner. Whether you want to blend into the background or act all macho, Assassin's Creed seems to let you.

Watching the populace's reactions to the main character was really special. Characters would visibly frown or raise their eyebrows as Altair jumped around like a madman in their vicinity. And when he took a swing at a random civilian, genuine panic ensued. The victim fell to the ground in pain as nearby villagers stood in shock or ran off screaming. Altair pressed the attack, and as the civilians seemed to realize the threat they were facing, some of them rallied, encircling Altair and making it difficult for him to escape. This is where the momentum-based movement comes into play. The quicker you move, the easier it is to lose footing. In practice, this all seemed quite believable.

Incidentally, the name Altair is Arabic for "the flying eagle," and indeed, the creative director of the game confirmed that the eagle was the inspiration for the character. You need to see Altair in motion to appreciate how cool he is. Remarkably, all of the animation was done by hand, which doesn't explain why it's able to look so real, but does explain why it's able to look so good. Altair has a move for every situation. It's hard to describe in specific detail why something as simple as how he touches a nearby stone wall can look so good, except to say that Altair simply looks much more real in motion than most any other video game character we've ever seen.

The three cities in Assassin's Creed will be Altair's playground. According to the designers, any surface that extends out more than two inches from a wall can be latched onto by Altair, who would make a champion rock climber. He can scale many surfaces and mantle up onto anything he can grab. Yet the city itself looks incredibly real. (We even got to see the whole thing from a high vantage point after climbing to a very tall building, though the frame rate dropped--but we're confident that visual blemishes like these will all be fixed.) The game gives a strangely liberating feeling--Altair is like a superhero but his abilities don't seem superhuman, for the most part. The creative director for the game noted that many of his moves were inspired by the sport of free-running, sort of like skateboarding without the skateboard. We saw this in action as Altair deftly skipped his way across rafters high up above a civilian populace obliviously wandering below.

Here Altair finally found his mark, revealed to him through his eagle vision, which highlights the would-be victim with a faint glow. By blending in with a group of clergymen (whom he had helped previously--don't expect to be aided without reciprocity), Altair was able to approach a haughty guardsman apparently in charge of executing civilians ostracized under King Richard's reign. In a flash, the guardsman is slain, sating Altair's wrist knife--and thus begins Altair's escape as an entire town erupts into bitter chaos.

The mob proves to be too much even for this capable killer. Altair fights bravely but is knocked from his feet as he attempts to flee (the faster you move, the more you stand to lose balance). Strangely, as he takes damage, the screen starts to distort. And when he finally dies, the screen fades out entirely, to reveal...a computer heads-up display. System offline. What...the...

The futuristic twist to Assassin's Creed is a mind-boggling highlight to an amazing first showing. Ubisoft promises that Assassin's Creed will be an open-ended action game that lets players act however they wish. This isn't a stealth game--if you want to fight your way to your victim, you can try. There will be subquests to undertake, alliances to forge, secrets to discover, and, hopefully, all the other aspects of a free-roaming world that we've come to enjoy. But it's truly just the level of detail on display in Assassin's Creed that has us so impressed, in addition to the art direction as a whole. We can't wait to see more of this game, but we'll patiently wait for it to come together so that it might live up to all of its potential.

GTA 4 Game Preview(I know it's a bit late)

Stepping off a boat in the shoes of illegal immigrant Niko Bellic as he arrives in Liberty City at the start of Grand Theft Auto IV, you can tell immediately that Rockstar North's latest offering is something quite special. Yes, this is another GTA game in which you'll likely spend the bulk of your time stealing cars and gunning down cops and criminals, but it's also much more than that. GTAIV is a game with a compelling and nonlinear storyline, a game with a great protagonist who you can't help but like, and a game that boasts a plethora of online multiplayer features in addition to its lengthy story mode. It's not without some flaws, but GTAIV is undoubtedly the best Grand Theft Auto yet.

Liberty City has changed a lot since 2001.

One of the many things that set GTAIV apart from its predecessors is Liberty City, which is more convincing as a living, breathing urban environment than anything that you've seen in a game before, and bears little resemblance to its namesake in 2001's GTAIII. Liberty's diverse population believably attempts to go about its daily business, seemingly unaware that several criminal factions are at war in the city. Niko has no such luck. He's compelled to start working for one of the factions shortly after arriving, when he learns that his cousin Roman has some potentially fatal gambling debts. Niko's military experience makes him a useful freelancer for employers in the business of killing each other, and though his reluctance to carry out their orders is often apparent, he does whatever is asked of him in the hope that completing missions for other people will ultimately give him the means to complete his own.

Actually, Niko doesn't have to do everything that is asked of him. On several occasions as you play through his story, you'll be presented with decisions that afford you the option of doing what you think is right rather than blindly following instructions. You don't necessarily have to kill a target if he or she promises to disappear, but you have to weigh the risk of your employer finding out against the possibility that the person whose life you spare might prove useful later in the game, or even have work for you in the form of bonus missions. To say anything more specific on this subject would be to risk spoiling one of GTAIV's most interesting new features, but suffice it to say that every decision you make has consequences, and you'll likely want to play through the game at least twice to see how the alternatives unfold.

Grand Theft Auto IV's story mode can be beaten in less than 30 hours, and there are so many optional activities and side missions to take part in along the way that you can comfortably double that number if you're in no hurry. The majority of the story missions task you with making deliveries and/or killing people, and play out in much the same way as those in previous games. With that said, most of the missions are a lot easier this time around, partly because Niko is a more agile and efficient killer than any of his predecessors, and partly because the LCPD seemingly has better things to do than hunt down an illegal immigrant who's gunning down undesirables all over the city. Some of the more imaginative missions sprinkled throughout the story include a kidnapping, a bank heist, and a job interview. The cinematic cutscenes associated with story missions are superbly presented and are the sequences in which the game's characters really shine. Without exception, the characters you encounter benefit from great animation, great voice work, and superbly expressive faces. They're not always so impressive when they join you on a mission and refuse to do what they're supposed to (for example, not following you on an escort mission, or failing to negotiate a doorway). Nevertheless, these problems are few and far between, and they're made less painful by the new "replay mission" option that you're presented with whenever you fail.

He's a gun for hire, but Niko Bellic is the most likeable GTA protagonist to date.

New abilities in Niko's arsenal include scaling fences and walls anywhere he can get a foothold, shimmying along ledges, and, most importantly, taking cover behind objects. The ability to stick close to walls, parked cars, and the like at the touch of a button makes GTAIV's gunplay a huge improvement over that in previous games, and, in tandem with the new targeting system, it also makes it a lot easier. Enemies are rarely smart enough to get to you while you're in cover, and given that you can lock your targeting reticle on to them even when they're hidden, all you have to do is wait for them to poke their heads out and then pick them off with a minimum of effort. Locking on to enemies targets their torso by default, but you can use the right analog stick to fine-tune your aim and kill them more quickly with a headshot or two. Playing without using the lock-on feature make things more difficult, but you’ll need to master the technique so that you can shoot blindly at enemies from positions of cover when you dare not poke your own head out to line up the shot.

Given the amount of trouble that you get into as you play through the story mode, it's inevitable that the police are going to get involved from time to time, even when their presence isn't a scripted feature of your mission. Liberty City's boys in blue are quick to respond when you get flagged with a wanted level of between one and six stars, but they're not nearly as tough to deal with as their counterparts in previous GTA games. They don't drive as quickly when pursuing you, they rarely bother to set up roadblocks, and you'll need to blow up practically an entire city block before the FIB (that's not a typo) show up. Furthermore, you're given an unfair advantage in the form of your GPS system; when you're not using it to plot a valid route to any waypoint of your choosing, it doubles as a kind of police scanner. Any time you have a brush with the law, the GPS shows you the exact locations of patrol cars and cops on foot in your area, and highlights the circular area (centered on your last known whereabouts) where they're concentrating their search. To escape, all you need to do is move outside the circle and then avoid being seen for 10 seconds or so, which is often best achieved by finding a safe spot and just sitting there. It's not a bad system in theory, but in practice it makes dodging the law a little too easy, especially when your wanted level is low and the search area is small.

The new cover system makes gunplay much easier than in previous games.

When you're not running missions for criminals, taking part in street races, stealing cars to order, or randomly causing trouble, you'll find that there are plenty of opportunities to unwind in Liberty City. Some of these optional activities offer tangible rewards that can prove useful in missions later on, whereas others are just a fun way to kill time and take in more of GTAIV's superb humor. For example, you can watch television, listen to numerous different radio stations, check out some genuinely funny shows (including some big-name acts) at cabaret and comedy clubs, and use a computer to surf the in-game Internet.

GTAIV's Internet is filled with spoofs of all the kinds of Web sites that you'd only ever look at accidentally or when you know there's no danger of getting caught. Some of them can be found only by clicking on links in spam e-mails, whereas others are advertised prominently on the search page. There's plenty of amusing stuff to find if you spend some time in one of the "TW@" Internet cafes, but the most interesting site by far is an online dating agency through which you can meet women who, if they like your profile, will agree to go on dates with you. Dating and socializing with friends is something you can spend as much or as little of your time doing as you like, and though the people you meet can occasionally be demanding to the point that they become irritating, keeping them happy invariably benefits you in some way.

Keeping friends and dates happy means spending time with them and doing things that they enjoy, and all of them have different personalities. Some friends like to join you for minigames such as tenpin bowling, pool, or darts, whereas others prefer to go out for a meal, get drunk, or take in a show. Of course, dates are much fussier than regular friends, and their opinions of you are influenced not only by whether you pick them up on time, where you take them, and whether you try your luck when dropping them at home, but also by a number of much more subtle factors. Dates will comment on stuff like the car you drive, how you drive it, and the clothes you wear. They'll even notice if you wear the same outfit two dates in a row, though not all of them will be bothered by it. The rewards that you get when another character likes you enough vary depending on who it is. Without wishing to give away specifics, befriending a lawyer can prove useful if you're having trouble with the cops, for example, and having a nurse on your friends list can literally be a lifesaver.

GTAIV's friends invariably come with benefits.

You'll keep in touch with your dates, friends, and some of your enemies using another of GTAIV's great new features: a cell phone. It's hard to believe that something as simple as a cell phone could add so much to a game like this, but it's implemented so well that it's hard to imagine leaving any of Niko's safe houses without it. If you've ever used a cell phone in real life, you'll have no problem operating this one and, given that it's controlled using only the D pad and a single button, it's easy to call up acquaintances and take calls even while driving. There's no unwieldy conversation system to deal with; you simply choose which friend you want to call, what you want to talk about (it could be work, a fun activity, or asking for a favor) and then, assuming that he or she answers the phone, the conversation plays out. Incoming calls are even easier, though they occasionally come at inopportune (or amusing) times; hearing your cell-phone's signal interfere with your car radio is the least of your worries when you consider the possibility of a date calling you while you're with a prostitute or embroiled in a gunfight with the Mafia. Incidentally, new ringtones and visual themes for your phone can be purchased via the in-game Internet, which is typical of the incredible attention to detail that you'll come to take for granted as you play.

To give you some idea of just how much thought has clearly gone into the crafting of GTAIV, even the act of stealing a parked car, which is still achieved by pushing a single button, can now result in any number of different things happening. If the door is locked, as is often the case, Niko will smash a window with his elbow or his foot to get inside. Once inside the car, he may need to hot-wire it to get it started; you can speed up the process slightly by using the shoulder buttons on your controller. If the car has an alarm, it'll sound for several seconds and cause the headlights to flash on and off as you drive away--practically begging any nearby cops to come after you. Stealing cars with drivers and/or passengers inside opens up lots more possibilities, the most amusing of which is someone (possibly you) getting an arm caught in a door and dragged along as the vehicle speeds away.

Most of the vehicles in GTAIV, like those in previous games, have very loose handling that makes it easy for you to perform Hollywood-style U-turns, skids around corners, and the like. You can play through most of the missions without ever violating a traffic law if you really want to, but you can get away with (and will have a lot more fun) driving like a lunatic, provided that you don't collide with any police vehicles or mow down too many pedestrians. A neat touch when driving with the default camera view is that the camera, which is positioned a few feet behind the rear bumper of the car, centers on you rather than on the vehicle, effectively offering the vehicular equivalent of an over-the-shoulder view. When you take the control of something sporty, the camera also positions itself much closer to the ground, which adds to the sensation of speed.

The police are rarely far away, but escaping from them is easy for the most part.

The vehicle handling is difficult to fault, regardless of whether you're in a sports car, a garbage truck, a motorcycle, a speedboat, or a helicopter. However, while driving, you might notice one odd quirk that has been a constant ever since GTAIII: When taking the controls of certain vehicles, you'll suddenly notice a lot more of the same vehicle on the roads. It's not a big deal, and it isn't detrimental to the gameplay, but it's a little jarring if you get into one of the more unusual vehicles in the game--for example, the equivalent of either a Ferrari or a pickup truck--and suddenly find that the city is filled with them. That particular quirk is pretty common in some of the multiplayer modes as well, though you'll likely be too busy keeping an eye out for other players to take any notice when you venture online.

Getting online in Grand Theft Auto IV couldn't be easier. You simply select the multiplayer option on your cell phone, choose which type of game you want to host or join, and then enter a lobby and wait for the game to start. You won't be getting bored staring at a list of names while you're waiting, though, because when you enter a lobby you actually enter an online version of Liberty City in which you and up to 15 other players are free to do anything. There are weapons scattered all over the place to ensure that things don't stay too friendly for very long.

There are more than a dozen different multiplayer modes to choose from, and although some of them are variations on similar themes, there's certainly no shortage of variety. As the host of a multiplayer session, you also have the freedom to greatly customize all of the game types with variables such as friendly fire, police presence, weapons sets, traffic levels, radar functionality, and many more. You can choose where you'd like your game to take place as well, considering that many gameplay modes can be played either on a specific Liberty City island or across the entire map.

Even conventional 16-player modes such as Deathmatch and Race feel quite different than anything that you've played before. And in addition to those, there are objective-based games in which you're tasked with completing missions similar to those in the single-player game: a team-based Cops 'n Crooks mode, a Turf War mode in which teams compete for control of territories, a carjacking mode, three cooperative missions that support up to four players, and more. With the right group of people, there's no reason why you can't have a lot of fun with every single mode that's available. We experienced a few frame-rate issues and lag that caused other players and their vehicles to jump around the screen at times, but for the most part GTAIV's online play is a real treat. One especially neat touch is that, as a passenger in a vehicle being driven by another player, you can mark waypoints on the GPS system for your driver using a map that tracks the locations of other players and objectives.

Multiplayer games are an opportunity for up to 16 players to get together in Liberty City.

If you're wondering about differences between the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of Grand Theft Auto IV, the truth is that there aren't many. The PS3 version can only be played after a mandatory install that takes around 10 minutes, and its load times are a little shorter and less frequent as a result. The visuals, which don't always hold up to close scrutiny but are impressive during typical gameplay, are comparable and feature the same quirks (shadows that flicker, for example) on both consoles. Likewise, the audio, which can take a lot of the credit for why Liberty City feels so alive, is exceptional regardless of which console you have and how many speakers it's hooked up to. True to form, GTAIV's soundtrack has plenty of great licensed songs and, unlike other games we could mention, it doesn't force the artist and track information down your throat with pop-up windows that detract from gameplay. However, if you want that information, you can simply dial up a song-recognition service on your cell phone and, after a few seconds, receive it in a text message. Genius.

In case you haven't guessed already, Grand Theft Auto IV is a game that you simply have to play. The single-player game, which you can still play long after you complete the story, is the series' best by far, and the multiplayer features are good enough that you'll likely have no problem finding people to play with for many months to come. The minor flaws that you'll experience are no more difficult to overlook than those in previous GTA games, and they're greatly outnumbered by the features that will impress and surprise you anytime you think you've already seen everything that the game has to offer. There's lots to see in Liberty City, so you'd best get started.
